ASA Data Fest at Wake Forest
What is Data Fest?
ASA DataFest is a 3-day statistics and data science competition that takes place in universities across the nation in March - April each year. Wake Forest students have been participating since Spring 2018!
DataFest is open to any undergraduate student with experience in some statistical computing, and experience with regression. If you have STA 112 or STA 212 , you are ready to compete in our level 1 division. My folks with more classes, like STA 362 or STA 363, you will be competing in our level 2 division. We also have a graduate level division for masters students.
In 2023, DataFest will take place in late April or early May. Interested student can sign up here! Please feel free to contact Dr. Dalzell at [email protected] if you have any questions about DataFest 2023!

STA 175: Statistics Competitions
Wake Forest students interested in DataFest take a 1 credit pass/fail course called STA 175 in Spring semester. In this course, we meet once a week for practice competitions, short lessons on new coding, models, and techniques, and time to work on these skills with colleagues.
